The objectives are to:
-
 Establish a system for collecting information on BVDV data sources in Europe; - Evaluate the research potential in joining BVDV information throughout Europe;
- Evaluate methods for incorporation of sociological context into the decision and management process of BVDV in special, and endemic infectious diseases in general;
- Evaluate risk factors for BVDV and their relative importance in different European regions;
- Evaluate methods for identification of risk factors in the late phase of control;
- Evaluate risk of re-infection in freed areas;
- Evaluate methods for infection dynamics modelling and identification of information necessary for improving the current epidemiological models;
- Evaluate health and production effects of BVDV under different production settings.
